So, as I was going through all of my blog entries since I have started the Dream Journal. I have noticed some common themes that are repeated several times. If there is any stock in dream meanings books, I thought it would be fun to see what they would say. Maybe my unconscious mind is trying to tell me something.
Pools: To dream about swimming in a pool suggests that you are in sync with your unconscious, you listen to the intuition and insight it provides in your waking life and are receptive to its creative powers.
Acting/ Forgetting Lines: “This dream theme may indicate a feeling of not being prepared, or of being put to the test in some way in one’s life. It may be the dream of a procrastinator, someone who is never fully ready.” – link
Magic: “Exercising positive magic on others, indicates that we want to help, or give them support during a difficult time. Performing magic on ourselves signifies transformation, and a sign of better things to come. If we are using sorcery, it signals confidence in our own powers and abilities. Alternatively, it may capture our wish to easily dispose of our current problems without any true effort or heartache.” – link
Amusement Parks: “To see or be in an amusement park in your dream indicates that you need to set some time for more relaxation and enjoyment in your life. The rides, booths and elements in the amusement park are an expression of some aspect of yourself or some area in your life. Look up the symbolism of specific rides for more details. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are too easily distracted lately.” – link
Sub cat: Haunted House– “To dream of a haunted house, signifies unfinished emotional business, related to your childhood family or dead relatives or repressed memories and feelings.” – link
Sub cat: Rock Climbing– “To dream that you are rock climbing symbolizes your struggle, determination, and ambition. You are not letting any obstacles get in the way of your goal. Additionally, the dream indicates that you have an edge over others…To dream that you are climbing down something indicates that you need to acknowledge and take notice of your subconscious. You are expressing some hesitance and reservation with delving into your more negative feelings. Alternatively, it suggests that you may be feeling low or emotionally drained.” – link
Schools: “To dream that you are in school signifies feelings of inadequacy and childhood insecurities that have never been resolved. It may relate to anxieties about your performance and abilities… Alternatively, a dream that takes place in school may be a metaphor for the lessons that you are learning from your waking life. You may be going through a “spiritual learning” experience.” – link
Well, take that all that as you will. Sounds like I am a complex mess. Ha! (Though some of these points are accurate.) I love playing around with these kind of things, seeing whether they hold any merit, or if they are just generic enough to be complete bull.
